I will serve as the Treasurer/President of the AWM Purdue Chapter for Fall 2024/Spring 2025.
Starting in Spring 2024 and continuing for the indefinite future, I am organizing a learning group on combinatorial commutative algebra with fellow grad student Anna Natalie Chlopecki. Currently we are working through the book Combinatorial Commutative Algebra by Miller and Sturmfels. Some of my notes and exercise solutions are available here (upon request).
I am currently co-organizing the Directed Reading Program at Purdue, which pairs graduate student mentors with undergraduate math majors to work on reading or research on a topic of their choice. As part of this I have mentored undergraduates in introductory commutative algebra and algebraic geometry.
I was a co-organizer of Purdue's Bridge to Research seminar for 2023-2024. This purpose of this seminar is to give math graduate students an introduction to the research of various professors in the department as they are choosing a field of study and an advisor.
Since 2022 I have participated in the AWM Purdue Chapter's mentoring program for accepted math grad students. My mentee Thu Vu is now a second-year graduate student at Purdue.
In Fall 2023 I had the opportunity to give a presentation on complete ideals in Dr. Bill Heinzer's course "Integral Domains Inside Noetherian Power Series Rings," using Huneke's paper "Complete Ideals in Two-Dimensional Local Rings." As suggested, I am posting my notes here.
